Spirit Spa Animal Sanctuary is a NO KILL 99% volunteer run Sanctuary, with one paid employee that works 24-7. Most of our animals come from pounds and shelters that euthanize after 2 weeks some after 3 days. We have saved them from death row. A few of our animals come in as strays or are owner turn in\'s. Each animal that we rescue is checked by a vet. Animals that come from pounds, shelter or are strays are quarantined for 14 days just to make sure that it has no illness. (Illnesses can have an incubation period of 3 to 10 days) Animals that are surrendered are quarantined for 3 days. Because these animals come from an unknown background we try to spend as much time with each of them as we can, this helps us to determine their temperament. All dogs start obedience lessons. They are worked with daily so most know some basic commands by the time they are placed. They also start their house training. All animals are tested with other cats, dogs, kids and adults both male and females.

By 1989 the rescue work had grown so much that Happy Hills Animal Foundation was incorporated as a non-profit organization. Second Hand Pets is a small rescue run out of our home. We place animals left in our care in new and loving homes. These are the pets that others feel compelled to toss out like yesterdays trash. We like to refer to them as Second Hand Pets. We currently have no foster homes only ours and don't have a facility. Each animal that comes to us is loved and nurtured until it finds it's special place in it's new families heart and home. Since our county(Boone County in Indiana) has no shelter we help out any animal in need to avoid it being euthanized or dumped on the back country roads. We will try to spay/neuter when able and get each pet a visit to the vet along with any necessary shots. If we are unable to get the pets spayed and neutered we will require proof after one month or at 6 mos of age that they were spayed/neutered. After proof the pet has been spayed/neutered $25 of the adoption fee will be reimbursed to the adopter. We rely on you the public for funding so please if you can find it in your heart to make a donation we would appreciate it. Our adoption fees will range from $125-$200 depending on the age and what we have had to do medically for the Second Hand Pet. Each pet will have their adoption fee listed on their bio page.

We are a group of united, dedicated, Labrador Retriever lovers in IN, IL, & OH that have united in hopes of saving and rehoming unwanted, unloved, neglected Labrador Retreivers through the Midwest. Love of Labs, IN, (LOLIN, INC) is an IRS deemed, not-for-profit, Public Charity. We are a 501(c)3, organization of volunteers only, that work together in a combined effort to save Labrador Retrievers and Lab mixes from being euthanized (either by injections or a gas box in animal shelters & animal controls.) We donate our time, gas, vehicles and all of our LOVE to help save these poor dogs by bringing them into our homes and including them as part of our families.

We are a small, private rescue, licensed by the State of Missouri in June 2004.
We specialize in senior dogs.
We offer Hospice care for dying dogs as space permits.

This site is dedicated to Max & Lady, both senior dogs that were in kill shelters & were "Naturals" when visiting the care center. Because of them, this rescue was born.

As of Jan. 1, 2007 we handle no more than two large senior dogs at a time.
All of the dogs are completely vetted including but not limited to altered, vaccinated, dental & microchipped before being placed for adoption.
Most, yet not all, visit the local care center to become familiar with medical equipment.
The goal is to get the senior pets into senior homes or non-senior homes with a low energy lifestyle.

Our goal is to find the right placement for each pet. We never want them to be hungry or unwanted again. We will answer every question to the very best of our knowledge & always be honest when it comes to the animal's suitability for a home. We want to make sure that you get the pet that will suit your special needs & that you will be able to meet the special needs of your pet.

Our adoption process begins with the e-mail or phone call to us. We will be asking for your complete name, address, telephone number, your veterinarian contact information & at least two personal references. We will then call you to ask a series of questions.

We are able to love & let go because we screen very carefully to find the home best suited to meet the needs of the fur-kids entrusted to our care.

The adoption fee ranges from $150 to $300.
The fee is based upon veterinary care, age & size of dog.
The higher adoption fee on the younger small dogs helps care for the older dogs that take longer to find fur-ever homes.

Jan. 2007 began our Senior Fur-ever & Always Program.
Our program is patterned after Love A Golden's Senior Life Program.
On certain fur-kids, your original adoption donation is perpetual.
The individual profiles reflect fur-kids in this program.
You may adopt another appropriate senior (10 years & older or special needs) fur-kid from us after this fur-kid passes to the Rainbow Bridge, becoming an Angel Dog.
Senior citizens and disabled receive a discount.
We also offer a discount to those in uniform keeping us safe.
Land of the free because of the brave.
May our Lord wrap His Bubble of Protection about those that serve May He comfort those left behind waiting, worrying & grieving.

Second Chance for homeless pets is a not for profit animal rescue. We pull our animals from local shelters before they are \"put to sleep\". We rent kennel space from a boarding facility in Murray Utah. We rescue dogs, puppies, cats and kittens. Our dogs are temperment tested by Tonya Landon of Diamonds in the Ruff Dog Services before being placed into the proper home. We believe that adoption fees should be kept reasonable no matter the breed or size of dog. We are not in this rescue to make money, but to save lives. We have a humane education branch that goes to schools and events and teaches people the importance of spaying/neutering, training and proper care. Each adoption fee covers; mandatory spay or neuter, shots including rabies, deworming, a 5 pound bag of science diet dog food and a free gift bag.
